About CPU - Computer Professionals' Union

Our Mission

The Computer Professionals’ Union (CPU) is a mass organization of ICT professionals, students, and advocates committed to advancing a nationalist, democratic, and people-centered information and communications technology sector in the Philippines.

Our Principles

Nationalism: We believe in Philippine digital sovereignty — the right and capacity of our nation to control its own digital infrastructure, data, and technological development.
Democracy: We believe that technology policy must be shaped by the people it affects. Workers, communities, and citizens must have a voice in decisions about the digital systems that govern their lives.
People-Centered Development: Technology must serve human needs — not corporate profits, not state surveillance, not the convenience of the powerful at the expense of the marginalized.

What We Do

Advocacy and Policy: We research and advocate for ICT policies that serve the national interest and protect workers’ rights.
Education and Training: We run workshops, seminars, and study groups on topics from programming to digital security to tech policy.
Organizing: We bring ICT workers together to build solidarity, share knowledge, and take collective action.
Solidarity: We stand with other progressive organizations and social movements in the Philippines and around the world.
